SALt - Serve And Learn Together

Vision

• SALt is a seasonal residential staff program at Green Lake Conference Center, the historic place and space of ReCreation, designed to help young adults discover God’s best version of themselves and their world while growing our seasonal staff capacity to allow us to serve more and larger missional groups.
• The foundation of the SALt program is intentional discipleship and servant leadership development with immediate vocational application toward one’s calling from the Lord.
• Our desire is to cultivate a servant’s heart in program staff and foster an approach to work as ministry.

Program Goals

1. Grow in both the desire and ability to be discipled and disciple others.
2. Acquire and practice Biblical leadership skills to cultivate a servant leadership ethos.
3. Foster an approach to work as ministry.
4. Gain valuable work experience, along with meaningful internships, learning opportunities, and exposure to people from diverse regions, generations, and cultural backgrounds.
5. Provide meaningful summer experience in faith and fun.
6. Develop lifelong bonds with GLCC that serve and support the present and future ministry.
7. Produce mature followers of Jesus Christ who eagerly pursue Him, practicing Christian disciplines of Bible study, prayer, service, worship, and fellowship with clear evidence fruit of the Spirit.

Logistics

• • Weekly Schedule 40-hour work week with additional 10 hours of engagement in weekly discipleship groups, leadership seminars, service opportunities, and social activities and daily morning devotionals.
  • Summer Calendar Full Summer: late May to early August (10 weeks)
  • Half Summer: 1st Session - early May to early July (6 weeks)
  • Half Summer: 2nd Session - early July to early August (6 weeks)
  • 1 week of unpaid vacation if desire
  • Target Age Group 18 to 25 years of age
  • Compensation Salary: $10/hour - $400/week
  • Room: Housing provided with 1-3 roommates per bedroom and a shared bathroom. ▪ Refundable housing deposit of $25/week
  • Board: Seven meals provided at no cost, along with weekly program allowance for shared meal preparation, as well as space and opportunity to store and prepare personal food supplies.
